Baroness Delyth Morgan

Delyth Morgan has been appointed as Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Campaign, taking over from Pamela Goldberg who is retiring after 16 years at the helm and who has transformed the organisation from a team of four staff to a high profile charity of 58 staff .

Isla Smith, Chair of Trustees at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Delyth as Chief Executive. Her wealth of experience of the voluntary sector, most notably in the field of breast cancer, and ministerial portfolio will be a huge asset to Campaign.

“Delyth is joining us at a very exciting and challenging time for the charity. We are looking forward to seeing her enhance the blend of talents of our Senior Management team and staff to help the charity achieve some ambitious goals for the future.”

Delyth Morgan said: “I am thrilled to be joining Breast Cancer Campaign. I have always respected the charity as a driving force in breast cancer research and have huge admiration for its achievements. Pamela Goldberg is an incredibly difficult act to follow; her commitment and leadership have been pivotal to the growth and ambition of Breast Cancer Campaign.

“My experience of government and the legislature has been greatly enjoyable and I know that I have so much more to contribute to the breast cancer field having had some time out of the charity sector.

“Despite all the advances in breast cancer, there is still much more to be done with 12,000 women in the UK still dying every year from this devastating disease. I believe this country has a unique role to play in finding a cure for Breast Cancer because of the NHS and our strong science base. An example of this is the Breast Cancer Campaign Tissue Bank, a ground-breaking initiative with enormous potential to transform breast cancer research and lead to real patient benefit. I am very much looking forward to leading Breast Cancer Campaign from strength to strength.”
